As the Town Council works to plan and adopt a two-year budget, they do so knowing that the costs of expensive water and sewer facility and infrastructure upgrades will outpace revenue from the two enterprise funds over that period. In today’s Sun, we write about those big-ticket items and how some of the costs will be offset.
We also report that the town has decided against building a new dog run on property off Washington Street south of Veterans Park. Instead, that area will be turned into a parking area for commercial vehicles and overflow event parking, while a new, temporary off-leash dog park will be created on the Yountville Elementary School property.
Also in today’s Sun, read about changes and offerings at two Yountville restaurants: Thomas Keller’s Regiis Ova Caviar and Champagne lounge is getting a new name and menu, while The Restaurant at North Block is hosting Thursday wine tastings and happy hour in its outdoor courtyard, and it has created a special menu for its “Locals Who Lunch” promotion.
