Yountville Sheriff Blotter – Stolen rental vehicle recovered; driver arrested

Napa County Sheriff Sgt. James Baumgartner reports that on Monday, July 13, at about 7:30 p.m., deputies were alerted through the Flock Camera System that a stolen vehicle had passed through St. Helena traveling southbound on Highway 29.

An immediate search by deputies for a white 2023 Hyundai Kona resulted in discovery of a vehicle that matched the description parked at the Yountville Park north parking lot.

Deputies made contact with the driver, Jennifer Patterson, 41 years, who was detained. There were no passengers in the vehicle.

Avis Car Rental in Citrus Heights confirmed that they had reported the vehicle to the Citrus Heights Police Department as stolen after Patterson failed to make payments and all attempts to contact the subject were unsuccessful. Patterson was arrested and booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections for felony possession of stolen property.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

“These two can continue to run and try and hide, but I’m confident we will find them.  They will be arrested and they will be brought back to Napa Superior Court to face the charges against them,” Baumgartner said.
