A Yountville Moment: The Molly’s Angels Crab Feed

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The Molly’s Angels annual crab feed was a huge success. Everyone had a great time, and I think we were the last to leave. It’s always a “who’s who” in Yountville, and this time was no different. It was so much fun seeing all our friends and neighbors having fun and supporting a worthy cause.

Thomas (Henthorne) baked his mother’s famous mandarin orange cake for the cake auction organized by Iren Jenny and Steven Miller. Rob and Ivy Zellmer bought it for $250, which was very kind given they can eat it for free anytime they come to our house for dinner. Myrna David, who has had the cake before, says it has “special properties” that “make the earth move.” I’ll leave it to you to read between the lines.

Beloved Billie Hewitt, who recently moved from Yountville to The Meadows in Napa, was in attendance, and everyone flocked around her to tell her how much she is missed. When Billie appeared in the Molly’s Angels video, the room erupted in an audible cheer.

It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves so much and coming together to support a worthy cause. Special props to Iren Jenny for putting together the largest table in the room. I think she may need her own gymnasium at the rate her table is growing!
