Dear Editor,

MEMO

Date: April 7, 2026

Attn: Y.E.S. Engineering Staff

Subject: Commendation to engineering staff for applying emergency brakes

We gratefully acknowledge and commend the engineering staff for responding to concerns regarding train design, operation, costs, scheduling, routing and potential hazards on tracks ahead.

We trust that, prior to resuming forward motion, engineering staff will apply similar consideration and judgment to the remaining critical maintenance tasks (enumerated below).

Remaining critical maintenance tasks:

  1. Form an ad hoc advisory and oversight team to inform train design, operation, scheduling, budgeting, and routing. Welcome aboard a diverse, representative group of train enthusiasts.
  2. Hire a professional conductor to create and facilitate a new, holistic community visioning and design process.

Once those actions have been taken, we can build a new and improved train. We can set our sights beyond the horizon, imagine a new destination, and lay down track that will take us there. Together. We can do this.

ALL ABOARD!
