Dear Editor,

It was my intention to attend yesterday’s (editor’s note: Tues. Feb. 17) Council meeting concerning Yountville Commons. I arrived at 3:30 to find a full parking lot at the Commons, in front of Yountville Town Hall, and in the lot in front of the Coop. There were no parking spots in Old Town or on Finnell Road. Two other cars were also trying to find a parking spot.

I gave up and drove home to look for a live broadcast of the meeting, but I couldn’t find one.

I don’t know how many attended the council meeting, but for the sake of this argument, let’s assume 200. Again, assume the Commons is built out with 120 units. How many of these do you think will have more than one vehicle? Let’s say 30%. That equals 156 vehicles.

Use the same math for those attending the meeting who arrived in the same vehicle: what, 140 vehicles?

Again, where am I going to park when I go to Yountville Fit or the Coop? And yes, I left out the Connection because I never go there. On a personal level, I wish it were different, but it has become difficult for me to walk long distances.

RECONSIDER PLEASE.
