The annual Holiday Town & Tree lighting ceremony took place Sunday evening and included a performance of traditional Christmas songs by the Napa High School Vocal Music Workshop, a co-ed “pop” style a capella group. The event kicked off the Yountville Chamber of Commerce’s “Holidays in Yountville,” six weeks of special seasonal events and offerings, from wine tastings and craft sessions to open houses and cooking classes. Also in this week’s Sun, we offer a look at the affordable housing projects recently completed, under construction or in the planning pipeline as jurisdictions across the state make efforts to fill the housing gap that is plaguing California.
Local contributing writer Myrna David’s feature on the Yountville Welcome Center shines a light on the committed volunteers who sustain the center and offer friendly advice to thousands of visitors each year.
The town is hosting an informal celebration of life for former mayor Cindy Saucerman, who passed away at her home in Todos Santos, Mexico on Oct. 2. Details are in the paper.
There’s much more to read in this week’s Sun but remember, this is the last week the paper will be sent out free of charge to all residents and businesses. To continue to receive the paper each week, please read Marc Hand’s commentary on Page 2. We hope you stay with us!
The Sun wishes all of you a peaceful and joyful Thanksgiving!
