This week in the Sun, read about efforts of the Yountville Veterans Home’s Allied Council to raise awareness about the state of a historic chapel on the grounds and to push for the state to make the needed repairs.

Also this week, we report on the plan to close Clover Flat Landfill near Calistoga. A representative for Waste Connections, the company that owns the landfill, was in Yountville Monday to answer questions about the closure and how it might impact upper valley garbage pickup and rates.

In addition, Napa County historic preservationist and historian Rebecca Yerger, shares some Yountville ghost stories to get everyone in the Halloween spirit. Yerger has been researching, writing and sharing Napa County history for more than four decades.
