Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Sgt. James Baumgartner from the Napa County Sheriff’s office in Yountville reported that Dec. 27, at about 6:45 p.m., Yountville deputies responded to Hotel Yountville in response to a disturbance call.

Upon arrival, deputies learned that multiple calls had come into the hotel lobby reporting a man screaming for help. Deputies contacted a man and woman inside one of the hotel rooms. They were traveling from out of state and staying at the hotel for Christmas. During the investigation, deputies collected evidence and ultimately arrested the man for felony domestic violence and felony false imprisonment.

Brian Fortney of Ohio, age 47, was booked at the Napa County Department of Corrections on those charges. Later that night he posted a bond and was released from custody. The woman refused medical treatment at the scene and was provided with information for emergency services available through Napa County and the State of California.
