This week in the Sun: An unknown number of Napa County residents may not be receiving the emergency alerts they signed up for through Nixle, the messaging system that has been replaced by a new platform called Alert Napa County. Sheriff Oscar Ortiz has convened a task force to get to the root of the problem.

Also featured this week is the non-profit group Molly’s Angels, whose volunteers provide transportation for seniors to medical appointments near and far. The organization has expanded its mission slightly to include weekly “care calls” to check up on its senior clients, many of whom live alone and don’t tend to ask for help.
