In this week’s Sun:
A 60-acre wildfire in Deer Park last week rattled nerves and prompted Cal Fire to suspend burn permits in all North Bay counties, as well as ban open fires in the Lake Berryessa Recreational Area. On the heels of a wet winter, an abundant fuel load of grass and brush is now being dried out by warm temperatures and dry winds – causing firefighters to prepare for a potentially busy fire season.
Also this week, we report on the availability of a social worker whose job it is to guide residents 60 and older to the services they may need. Karen Lustig is now holding office hours every Thursday in Yountville.
Finally, the town’s Zoning and Design Review Board this week rejected the design of mixed-use commercial building proposed by businesswoman Colby Hallen, proprietor of Hunter Gatherer Napa Valley, which lost its lease in north Yountville several years ago.
