Letter to the Editor – Experience and perspective matter in local journalism

Dear Editor of the Yountville Sun —

I wanted to express my support for the Opinion piece of Kimberly Cook in the April 30 issue of the Yountville Sun. While I only met Ms Cook last Thursday for the first time, I have read her articles as a reporter with interest and appreciation; her news columns have been both informative and factual. Furthermore, I would think she has spent much more time at Town Council and related meetings than most of us in Yountville, both as a reporter and as a member of the town’s ZDRB. This time, energy, and commitment give her credibility and a unique perspective during what is a polarizing period in Yountville. Although I know the Yountville Sun does not publish editorials, I personally found her Opinion comments insightful and was very pleased they were shared in print.
