Letter to the Editor – Gratitude for a gracious gesture: Keller’s French Laundry dinner celebrates community

Dear Editor,
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Chef Thomas Keller for hosting the locals dinner at The French Laundry this past Tuesday. It was an extraordinarily generous gesture to welcome so many Yountville residents in such a warm and gracious way.
We felt very fortunate to clear the lottery, and the evening was truly special from beginning to end. There was a palpable sense of happiness as we walked through the various rooms. It was not simply a remarkable meal, but a gathering that made many of us feel celebrated as members of this community.
Chef Keller has done so much for Yountville over the years. Through his restaurants, his standards of excellence, and his long-standing commitment to hospitality, he has helped shape Yountville into a place recognized around the world. Yet beyond the acclaim and reputation, what stands out just as much is the way he and his team continue to give back to the local community that surrounds them.
This dinner was a reminder that true hospitality is not only about extraordinary food and service, but also about generosity, gratitude, and connection. Chef Keller and everyone at The Thomas Keller Restaurant Group have contributed enormously to the spirit, identity, and vitality of Yountville. We are deeply appreciative not only of this memorable evening, but of all they have done over the years to enrich our town.
Our heartfelt thanks to Chef Keller and to his entire team at TKRG for a night that meant so much to so many. It was a beautiful expression of community, and one we will long remember.
Sincerely,
