Letter to the Editor – Taxpayers deserve answers from town attorney on $250,000 Raulston payout

Dear Editor,

Town Attorney Gary Bell’s refusal to clarify outgoing Town Manager Brad Raulston’s unjustified severance package is appalling. It was made clear during the council meeting that severance was not applicable, as Raulston’s resignation was for personal reasons.

As stated during the meeting, the $250,000 being paid out is OUR money, not the Town Council’s. Attorney Bell must be compelled to explain, in detail and in writing, why this exorbitant sum of money was gifted to Raulston. Failure to do so should result in in Bell’s immediate termination (without severance) for this gross dereliction of duty.

Our town deserves answers, not a “Shut Up, Peasants” response from Attorney Bell.
