Letter to the Editor: Vote for three, a magic number for change

Sun Letters to the Editor Graphic

Dear Editor,

Since the introduction of the Yountville Commons apartment project on Feb. 17, 2026, the Town Council and town itself has been experiencing a distressing lack of openness, and good will. While mistrust and unbecoming conduct are never good, those qualities are driving poor decisions at a time when so many important issues are facing the town.

With those thoughts in mind, I believe change is necessary — and these three Yountville residents are aligned to make it happen. I support Joe Tagliaboschi for mayor, and Hillery Trippe and Jill Turner for Town Council.

Joe’s a Navy veteran, previous town manager of Trinidad, California, and a former Yountville council member. He has served as a popular and effective public works director for over seven years and has detailed experience in Yountville’s inner workings.

Hillery Trippe, who is a current member of Town Council, has often been the lone voice of reason on the current council, rightfully questioning some of its decisions. Her background as an attorney and risk manager serves Yountville residents well.

Jill Turner has many years of business experience in marketing, business planning, project management and real estate. Owning a home in Yountville for 28 years, she has been an ingrained part of the town’s evolution.

All three candidates are good people, approachable, care about Yountville deeply and I am confident that they have the expertise to effect the important changes that are now needed for Yountville’s current and future residents, businesses, veterans, workers and visitors.

It’s important to note that three is the magic number. With the Town Council’s five members: just one or two aligned faces will not be able to execute the fresh ideas and create the impact that is needed to move the town forward. I encourage you to vote for all three candidates to plan and implement the changes that are required for Yountville to continue to thrive.

Sincerely,

Michael Haran
Yountville
