News update about the Sun
Friends of the Sun —
We wanted to share some news tidbits with you. As you might have seen in the print edition of the Sun, last week was an important milestone for our newspaper. The Napa Valley Community Foundation announced two grants and a loan to our publisher, Highway 29 Media Company. These funds will go toward expanding our coverage, completing the purchase of the Calistoga Tribune, and hiring a bilingual reporter to broaden the community coverage in Napa County. This reporter will contribute to the Sun and to the Tribune.
While this is all very good news, we have a lot more work ahead of us to build a sustainable business and to keep Yountville residents informed about our community. We are working to build subscribers, donors and in planning fundraising events. Our first big fundraising event, with Willie Brown as our guest of honor, will be held in Yountville on June 23rd. Watch the Sun for details.
We encourage you to consider becoming a Digital Member of the Sun. By doing so, you can get access to the Sun’s E-Edition, even where you’re not in town.
Highlights from last week’s Sun, include the report that crime is minimal in Town, highlights of the Chamber’ marketing and promotion initiatives and support of performing arts. Becoming a digital subscriber will get all of this news in your email box Friday morning.
Happy reading.
Sincerely,
Marc Hand
CEO/Chairman of the Board
