Optimist Club of Yountville launches initiatives
Optimism is driving the newly founded Optimist Club of Yountville, which has achieved remarkable success in just five months since it was organized. The club has already secured significant funding, written a successful grant proposal and laid the groundwork for future scholarships.
Residents generously donated to their October garage sale, which raised more than $3,000 to support college and trade school scholarships, summer camp scholarships for Napa Valley youth and a new community grant project.
Last week the town of Yountville approved funding for the Optimists’ grant proposal to forge intergenerational partnerships between students from Redwood Middle School and Willow Elementary School and Yountville elders, who will participate in biodynamic farming activities together. Oasis by Hoopes will host the project at their Animal Sanctuary and Regenerative farm in Napa. With the strong support from Yountville residents, the Town Council, the Napa Boys and Girls Club, and Oasis by Hoopes, the project is set to begin in mid-January.
