Confounded by ZDRB decision RE: Kim Cook

Sun Letters to the Editor Graphic

To the Editor:

I was totally confounded when Kim Cook was not reseated on Yountville’s Zoning Design Review Board (ZDRB).

She has consistently served that role with her undivided attention, meticulous scrutiny and conscientious understanding of the applicable regulations, codes and laws — and there are many of them. When an address went on the ZDRB agenda, Kim did more than read the application, staff report and drive by the address. She walked the site, surveyed its surroundings and considered how the project would impact the street scape until she gained a working knowledge of exactly what the project in question would be like upon completion from every angle.

I don’t believe Yountville would look as compelling as it does today had it not been for Cook’s knowledge, careful study and valuable input over the last decade.

Now I am pleased to learn that Kim will apply her depth of knowledge and healthy curiosity to reporting regularly on news from the Town Council and ZDRB.  We are blessed.

Sincerely,

Sharon Stensaas
Yountville
