This week, Canine Commons – Yountville’s first official dog park – opened to rave reviews from its target audience if the sniffing, running, jumping and rollicking of the furry four-leggeds in attendance was any indication. Their two-legged human companions were happy and complimentary as well.

Also in this week’s Sun, we talk to the family behind Staglin Family Vineyard, which has been a philanthropic force for mental health care and research for three decades. Their 30th annual Music Festival for Brain Health takes place in two weeks, having raised more than $600 million for the cause.

And…now that the St. Helena to Calistoga section of the Napa Valley Vine Trail is complete and open, the Vine Trail Coalition turns its attention to building the 11-plus mile section from Yountville to St. Helena. Read about the project status and when it’s expected to be finished.
