In this week’s Sun:

U.S. Rep. Mike Thompson hosted a Town Hall Tuesday in Yountville, home of the oldest and largest Veterans Home in the country, to spread the word about 2022 legislation that expanded federal benefits in veteran healthcare services. Veterans from all service branches and of all wars and conflicts are encouraged to find out if they’re eligible.

Also this week, we report on Town Council actions to prepare for activity at Yountville Commons, the 6.8-acre former Yountville Elementary School property the town purchased from Napa Valley Unified School District for $11 million. In addition to approving a temporary dog park, the council has approved contracts for design, public outreach and project management as it moves through the process of developing the property.

And finally, as the Fiscal Year 2023-24 comes to a close, Yountville’s anticipated revenues from TOT, Property and Sales taxes are on track to meet projections in the budget.
