In this week’s Sun, residents weigh in on what activities or facilities they’d like to see at the Yountville Elementary School property, which the town is buying for $11 million. Also this week:

  • An outpouring of opposition to off-leash dog hours at Vineyard Park has town staff revisiting the plan.
  • Roots of Peace and the town of Yountville are honoring the late, legendary Napa Valley vintner Mike Grgich by planting a tree in Community Park. A ceremony will be held Monday, April 1 (what would have been Grgich’s 101st birthday)  at 11 a.m.
  • A young filmmaker who grew up in Napa Valley credits the area’s bucolic calm for nurturing his imagination. Kyle Andrews, who now lives in Los Angeles chasing his dream of making movies, is hosting a fundraising event in Yountville to help him produce his first feature film.
