Yountville Sheriff Blotter – Santa Rosa woman arrested on suspicion of DUI after Yountville crash
Yountville Sheriff James Baumgartner reported that a Santa Rosa woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a single-vehicle crash damaged a light pole and stop sign in Yountville on Aug. 26.
According to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at 9:30 p.m. to the intersection of Washington and Yount streets, where investigators determined a vehicle making an illegal U-turn had jumped the curb and struck a light pole and stop sign.
The driver, identified as 37-year-old Neidy Godinez of Santa Rosa, declined to perform field sobriety tests or submit to a preliminary alcohol screening test, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Based on evidence gathered at the scene and the circumstances of the crash, deputies arrested Godinez on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Her vehicle was towed.
Godinez also declined to submit to a blood or breath test following her arrest. Deputies obtained a search warrant for a blood draw from a Napa County Superior Court judge, and a blood sample was subsequently collected at a hospital, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Godinez was booked into the Napa County jail, and the case was forwarded to the Napa County District Attorney’s Office for review. She posted bail the following morning and was released from custody.
The town of Yountville plans to seek restitution for the cost of materials and labor associated with repairing the damaged light pole and stop sign.
