Yountville Sheriff Blotter – Weed torch sparks mobile home fire at Gateway park; no injuries reported / Mardi Gras event street closures
Napa County Sheriff Sgt. James Baumgartner reports that on Feb. 4 at about 10:30 a.m. deputies responded to a report of a structure fire at Gateway Mobile Home Park. A mobile home had caught fire due to a person burning weeds in the yard with a weed torch. All occupants were evacuated from the structure with no injuries. Cal Fire responded and kept the fire contained to the one structure. Deputies remained on scene for safety.
Parade Road Closures: Deputies will be closing the following intersections at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7 due to the Mardi Gras Parade.
1 – California Drive at Highway 29 (on California Drive only, not the highway). Access to the Veterans Home will remain open at all times.
2 – Madison Street at Highway 29.
3 – Washington Street at Highway 29.
These closures will not allow access into Yountville during the parade. Detours will be directed to Yount Mill Road, to enter Yountville. Volunteers and staff will be at all intersections east of Washington Street to not allow traffic westbound toward Washington Street during the parade. These closures will last for about one hour.
