Thursday, Dec. 5

This week in the Yountville Sun, we feature Juli Burns, a longtime Postal Service employee who was the first female postmaster at the St. Helena Post Office, and later served in the same role at the Oakville Post Office before it was shut down this summer. Tomorrow is Juli’s last day at the Yountville Post Office, where she has worked since June of this year.
Also this week, we have a story reflecting on the long public service career of state Sen. Bill Dodd, who, due to term limits in the California Legislature, was forced to walk away from the Sacramento political arena. Dodd, a Napa resident, said he would find new ways to serve his community moving forward.
Other stories include a report on the final, certified results of the Nov. 5 election, as well as a summary of Yountville Town Council action to reallocate nearly $3 million in excess funds from the 2023-24 fiscal year budget.
