Napa County Sheriff Sgt. James Baumgartner reported that on March 19, at about 6 p.m., deputies responded to the Villagio Inn Spa and removed Benjamine Valenzuela 32, from the property.

A warrant check through dispatch reveled that Valenzuela had an out-of-county misdemeanor arrest warrant for trespassing. Valenzuela was arrested and transported to the county jail on the outstanding arrest warrant. Valenzuela had been contacted several times in the past weeks for trespassing on multiple businesses and private property.

On March 21, at about 9:30 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the area of Yount and Madison streets for a report of domestic violence. Upon arrival, deputies located a female victim who reported that she had been assaulted by a person with whom she shares a child. The suspect, Luis Atilano, 46, left prior to deputies’ arrival. The victim refused medical treatment for her visible injuries.

A judge granted an emergency protective order. The victim was provided with services, and a search began for Atilano. At about 1:22 p.m., Atilano was located at a residence in Napa, where he was taken into custody. Atilano was served with the emergency protective order and booked into the county jail for felony domestic assault.
