Yountville resident Nancy Caldwell was at last Saturday’s Holiday Artisan Faire with her handmade pillows. Caldwell was one of some 25 vendors who plied their wares in the Community Center Plaza from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
If you missed last Saturday’s Holiday Artisan Faire at the Yountville Community Center and outdoor plaza, by all accounts, you missed a great opportunity to shop for myriad one-of-a-kind art and handcrafted goods. Despair not, however, as the success of this inaugural event likely means it will return next year. Read about how it got started in this week’s Sun.
Also this week, we report on the state seeking bids for a $3 million construction contract to upgrade the filters and related systems at the Rector Reservoir Water Treatment Plant, which provides Yountville with its drinking water and is owned by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
In addition, we share the story of 25 Chihuahua dogs abandoned in crates on the side of a Calistoga road last Thursday night. Thanks to a passerby who called for help, and the Napa County Animal Shelter, the dogs are safe and already being farmed out to other rescue organizations for care and adoption.
