Bocce On! – Yountville June 26, 2025
As I write this recap of weeks 9 and 10 bocce results, we have one more week to play until our two-week summer break. The first half of our season has flown by! Monday night is as popular as ever. Sixteen teams played on Monday, June 9. Play was a little slower than usual; it’s good that the sun sets later in the summer. Most teams stuck around and finished three matches.
The teams of Violet Hover and Sandy Fagan, Sharron O’Neill and Priscilla Hegner, and Charles Burke and Nancy Caldwell ended with 24 points each. Bob Gligorea and Lorraine Visovsky came close with 23 points. Bellringers were rolled by Violet Hover, Art Morgan, Bruce Orr and Mario Pirondini.
Wednesday night had 12 teams in play. Cindy Morgan celebrated her first bellringer! Others rolling bellringers were Keith Thomas, Julie Worthington and Pam Williams. Joel and Sherry Breitigam and Lisa and Robbie Whitham each won all three of their matches. Right behind were Karen and Steve Zanetell with 21 points. Don Olvarado and Marilyn Cardone teamed up and finished with 20 points.
Thursday also had 12 teams in attendance. Mike Muters and Stella Williams and Kim Richard and Jeff Brown continued their dominance, winning all three of their matches. Ernie Cabral and Patrick Larson finished with 21 points. Dawn Conley, Patrick Larson, and Gregg Beach all had bellringers.
Monday June 16 had 16 teams signing in for play. Court Manager Charles Ainsworth made the decision to keep games to six points to ensure that everyone got to play three matches.
It worked like a charm and helped decrease the wait between games. The teams of Mike Murrell and Jim Cherniss and Charles Ainsworth and Cheryl Grigsby won all three of their matches. Bellringers were rolled by Charles Burke, Jan Horn, Mike Murrell, Bruce Orr and Debbie Stack.
Lisa and Robbie Whitham came to play on Wednesday! Lisa rolled two bellringers and Robbie rolled one as they won all three of their matches. Lisa currently has six bellringers on the season, more than any other night. Robin McKee-Cant also rolled two bellringers as she and partner Guido Muratori won all of their matches. Steve and Karen Zanetell also finished with 24 points. Others rolling bellringers were Steve Rogers and Jim Lyon.
Ernie Cabral and Patrick Larson won all three of their matches on Thursday night. Kim Richard and Jeff Brown were right there with 23 points. Jim and Dawn Conley finished with 22 points. Bellringers were rolled by Jim Conley, Inez Brocco, Ben Saunders, Jeff Hartung and Rob Stout.
