More kids, more fun: Camp Y-Ville sets summer record
Camp Y-Ville, the summertime day camp for kids produced by the Town of Yountville, wrapped up its 34th summer this week following a record-setting season that included 337 campers while expanding learning and childcare options for families in Yountville and throughout the Napa Valley.
Led by Yountville Parks and Recreation Coordinator Taylor Solis, the summer day camp recorded 1,029 individual camper registrations over more than nine full weeks, averaging about 114 campers per week. Participants included 34 Yountville residents and nine children of town employees.

The camp increased capacity this year by adding a Monday, Wednesday and Friday enrollment option on days without off-site bus trips, giving families more scheduling flexibility.
“We are incredibly proud of what Taylor and the Camp Y-Ville team accomplished this summer,” Yountville Parks and Recreation Director Samantha Holland said. “Serving a record number of campers is exciting, but what matters most is being able to provide a program that families can count on each summer. Taylor and her team put a tremendous amount of energy and care into Camp Y-Ville, and it shows.”
Camp Y-Ville also continued its partnership with Community Resources for Children, which provided subsidized childcare assistance allowing 12 children from qualifying families to attend the camp.
The program employed 25 teens and young adults as recreation assistants and provided volunteer leadership opportunities for 12 counselors-in-training.
Town officials said participation by both Yountville residents and families from elsewhere in the Napa Valley helps support the town’s goal of operating Camp Y-Ville on a full cost-recovery basis while maintaining access for local children.
