Rogelio Garcia graduated from Vintage High School in Napa and began his journey into the world of fine dining at the age of 15 when he took a job as a dishwasher at a modest Yountville cafe. Since then, he has worked for some of the Napa Valley’s and Bay Area’s most esteemed chefs before taking the helm in 2022 at Calistoga’s Auro, earning it a coveted Michelin star just eight months after opening. This week, he released his first cookbook – a homage, he said, to his Mexican heritage, the Napa Valley and Northern California’s abundant culinary fare.
