Bocce On! – Yountville – September 10, 2026 – Bocce keeps rolling

Monday, Aug. 24, had a great turnout with 25 people in play. Creative pairings let everyone have a chance to earn points. Giulio and Rosella Giuliani, and Nadine Monroe and Lilette Taylor were the top scorers, earning 23 points each. Next up were Jack and Ellen Nelson, who won a high scoring match finishing with 21 points, against Sharron O’Neill and Kathy Ainsworth.

Bellringers were celebrated for Giulio Giuliani, who rolled two bellringers, and Sandy Fagan, Andrea Holko, Barbara Pirondini, Nadine Monroe, Ellen Nelson and Violet Hover, who each rolled one.

Wednesday night did not record any bellringers. That may be a bocce club first! Guido Muratori and Paula Simi teamed up and won all three of their matches. Carol Shirmang returned to the courts and won three matches with Don Olvarado. Kathy Phillips and Marilyn Cardone were next with 20 points.

Teri Smith had a great night on Thursday, Aug. 27. She rolled two bellringers and won all three matches with partner Shea Mixon. What a night! Rick and Robyn Del Zompo and Mike Muters and Ernie Cabral also had a winning night, earning a perfect 24 points each. Fred Espinoza and Dana Dellascio were just 2 points off, finishing with 22 points. In addition to Teri’s bellringers, Dana Dellascio, Rita Simke and Danny Brown each rolled a perfect score of 4.

There were some regulars missing on Monday, Aug. 31, but the nine teams in attendance all had a great time. Jim Cherniss and Mike Murrell had the high scores, earning 24 points.  Next up were Mario and Barbara Pirondini, and Mac and Jodi Akin, with 22 points each.  Lilette Taylor and Nadine Monroe were in the mix with 20 points. There were no recorded bellringers. Everything OK, Mario?

Wednesday night had eight teams in play. Competition was tight with no team winning three games. Marco Wright and Steve Rogers lost a nail biter to Pam Williams and Julie Worthington but finished with 23 points. Carol Shirmang and Don Olvarado gave up a point against Marco and Steve and also finished with 23 points. Lisa and Robbie Whitham and Pam Williams and Julie Worthington were just behind with 22 points. Bellringers were scored by Pam Williams and Marco Wright.

On Thursday night, players braved some rain but stayed to play. Kim Richard returned to the courts and, with Adrian Calderon, won all three matches. Rick and Robyn Del Zompo were next with 21 points. Bob and Renee Garske finished with 20 points. Adrian Calderon rolled the only bellringer of the night.
