Break’s over, let’s roll! Welcome back, everyone! What did you do during the two-week bocce break? Epic road trip? Staycation? Bocce camp? Let’s recap the first two weeks back on the courts.

Monday, July 14

Monday night bocce continues to draw a crowd, with 11 teams attending. Priscilla Hegner and Sharron O’Neill and Bruce and Pat Orr topped the scoreboard with 24 points. Mario and Barbara Pirondini and Patricia Reis and Cheryl Grigsby were close behind with 22 points. Andrea Holko rolled her first bellringer of the season, while Priscilla Hegner and Mario Pirondini each rolled two. Giulio Giuliani has climbed to the top of the Monday night player leaderboard.

Wednesday, July 16

Eight teams played a speedy evening of bocce. John and Marita Dorenbecher and Steve and Karen Zanetell swept all three of their matches. Marianne and Jim Lyon followed with 19 points. Bellringers were celebrated by Don Olvarado, Marianne Lyon, Guy Morgan, and Marita Dorenbecher.

Thursday, July 17

Nine teams competed. Bob and Renee Garske had a perfect night, winning all three matches for 24 points. Rob Stout and Rita Simke came in second with 21 points despite winning just one match.

Fred Espinoza rolled his first bellringer, and Rob Stout added his third of the season.

Monday, July 21

A beautiful day brought 12 teams out to play. The dog pound was back to full strength! Nancy Caldwell and Charles Burke, back after a four-week break, won all three of their matches. Giulio Giuliani teamed up with Cheryl Grigsby to score 23 points, matching Jan Horn and Patricia Reis. Bellringers were rolled by Sharron O’Neill and Nancy Caldwell.

Wednesday, July 23

Lisa and Robbie Whitham and Carol Shirmang and Don Olvarado were undefeated. Paula and John Simi followed with 21 points. Keith Thomas, Don Olvarado, Lisa Whitham, Marco Wright and Pam Williams all rolled bellringers.

Thursday, July 24

Eight teams turned out for Thursday night play. Stella Williams and Mike Muters narrowly beat Danny and Carolyn Brown in their first match, then went on to win the next two, finishing with 24 points. Kim Richard and Jeff Brown earned the second-highest score of the night with 18 points. Carolyn Brown rolled the night’s only bellringer—congratulations!
